20 Questions with Niall O’Kelly and Mark Baker
1. If you were a super hero or super villain, what powers would you have?
Niall: Can we combine a number of their superpowers into one super super hero? If I had to pick one it would be to fast forward time so I didn’t have to do this questionnaire. Superman.
Mark: I’d be Batman. Batman doesn’t need superpowers. Just lots of money, a cool car and a passion for justice. He also has the best costume.
2. Do you love or hate rollercoasters?
Niall: Love them.
Mark: Neither. I tolerate them so I don’t look like a coward. The Harry Potter Dragon Challenge in Universal Studios is surprisingly terrifying.
3. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Niall: I am not a fan of cats as I find them creepy……….. so dogs.
Mark: Neither. Again, I tolerate them because my wife and kids like them and I have no choice. Animals are regularly brought home to my house.
4. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Niall: Boston or somewhere with plenty of sunshine
Mark: Probably somewhere in California. I do love Ireland but the weather is frustrating.
5. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Niall: Morning person – my colleagues may disagree.
Mark: Both actually. I regularly go to bed after midnight and usually get up at 6am. I listened to a podcast recently that had a sleep expert on it, and the effects of sleep deprivation are shocking so I plan to go to bed earlier from now on.
6. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Niall: Professional Sports person and the dream is still alive. Keep an eye out for the first person to represent Ireland in Curling in the next winter Olympics!!!!
Mark: I wanted to play for Celtic FC as a goalkeeper.
7. Favourite colour?
Niall: Orange. (I wrote my answer in orange in case you cant see it and its edited out) (please don’t delete these brackets)
8. Favourite film/ series?
Niall: Good Will Hunting / The West Wing.
Mark: Couldn’t pick one film. But Breaking Bad is probably my favourite series.
9. What do you do in your spare time?
Niall: Fill out questionnaires for work!!!! Love eating out, playing watching sports, films, cooking, sleeping and spending time with friends and family.
Mark: None of your business.
10. What’s your all-time favourite town or city?
Niall: Boston – was there for a wedding and want to go back right now.
Mark: New York. At Christmas.
11. Are you a good cook?
Niall: Yes I would like to think so and have been told I do a mean slow cooked Bolognese.
Mark: No. I am good at suggesting places to go out and eat though. I cook a decent breakfast or BBQ, that’s about my limits at the moment.
12. Favourite restaurant
Niall: Too many to pick one but I’ll give you some examples Featherblade, Bunsen, Juniors, Bujo (google it and go), Shannahans and Mad Egg has been recently added to the list.
Mark: Nandos. You may laugh but I was there yesterday, and it never disappoints. You can eat quite healthily there. I also love the Counter Burger. And Juniors is my favourite place for lunch.
13. Favourite sport (to play or watch)
Mark: Soccer to play. Maybe MMA to watch.
14. Are you a fan of any sports team?
Niall: Yes – Leinster Rugby and Ireland in anything obviously. Used to be big into Man Utd too when they were winning!!!!
Mark: I was a huge Celtic fan growing up but I lost interest in my 20s. Once Henrik Larsson left. I will support Ireland in anything.
15. Are you scared of heights?
Niall: I am not scared of anything but would say I am not a fan of heights.
Mark: No. Doesn’t bother me too much.
16. Which came first the chicken or the egg?
Niall: Neither – God.
Mark: Egg. It’s been proven. I Googled it.
17. What was your favourite and worst subject in school?
Niall: Favourite was PE or Accounting. My least favourite was Art – I may or may not have been told if I didn’t pick Art for my leaving cert I didn’t have to attend art class in transition year due to “creative differences”.
Mark: Favourite was art as I’ve always been good at art, I thought that was an easy A in the leaving cert. I got a B. Worst was probably Irish. I blame bad teaching, and a lack of interest.

Niall: All areas of accounting and lead the recently qualified team.
Mark: Recently Qualified accountants mainly.
20. If you were to give a candidate one piece of advice, what would it be?
Niall: Honestly, know what your dream job is. What are you working towards if you don’t know where you want to go.
