Job Description

Opportunity to join the finance team of specialist Irish logistics firm in Meath. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the administration of the Purchase Ledger function. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining supplier/purchase ledger files, ensuring supplier invoices are accurate in relation to cross calculations, VAT and invoice totals.
  • Liaising with suppliers and colleagues to address queries related to credit notes (for overcharges), invoices and statements.
  • Processing of intercompany reconciliations, completing month-end reports and related procedures.
  • Supporting the Financial Controller across other ad hoc duties.

Requirements for this Role

Successful candidate will likely have the following background:

  • 2+ years’ in a similar Accounts Assistant role.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experienced in using accounting software (e.g. Sage).
  • A keen attention to detail with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to take on responsibility.
  • Knowledge of the haulage and logistics industry would be advantageous.
