Job Description
With ongoing supply chain issues recently, the impact of Brexit still looms large – and the Insurance industry is no different with a divergence between London and Brussels in how firms will be regulated.
This has necessitated the need for UK based Insurance houses to find regulatory solutions for significant books of EU based premium holders.
With this in mind, a global FTSE 250 listed Insurance company has created an Irish entity to passport into the EU for the regulation of their EU business mainly covering Spain, France and Germany.
In setting this up they need a Senior Risk Manager to serve as the PCF14 holder in leading the mitigation of Risk for this Irish regulated entity.
With a solid Risk structure already in place at Group level, your chief task will be in implementing these existing frameworks to include establishing control and validation measures as well as putting in place structures for risk metrics and reporting.
In addition, you’ll be liaising with the CBI to assess and keep up to date with upcoming regulatory themes. Leading on from these interactions, you’ll be reaching out to key stakeholders across the Group to gain broader co-operation for Irish/EU regulatory requirements.
In summary, you’ll be in charge of ensuring effective application of their 2nd Line of Defence. You’ll have plenty of hands-on involvement in managing the operation of these risk controls while also interacting at the level of the Group Risk Committee regularly.
Requirements for this Role
- Experienced Risk professional – preferably in Insurance.
- Strong exposure to risk frameworks, assurance and controls.
- Ability to communicate and interact at Regulator and Board level.
- An understanding of Insurance Risk and areas such as Solvency II would be an advantage.
Other Details
The firm you’ll be joining is a prominent UK Insurance company with a global presence. Their focus is on Specialty Insurance & ReInsurance offerings utilising an Intermediary model.
They are also a part of the Lloyd’s Insurance Marketplace in London and as part of this they lead several large Insurance syndicate structures.
Please do send on whatever version of your CV you have at hand and would be happy to have a call to discuss in more detail from there.
