Job Description

With Pillar 2, BEPS, ATAD all in the pipeline, the world of International Tax for corporates continues to shift and evolve. Against this background your task here will be to lead International Tax Management.

In doing this, your role here will be quite broad – and really that is the key selling point. The culture here is the opposite of the silo’ed tax operations of some of the other big players. In terms of the main areas you’ll cover, we can mainly break it down into 2 core competencies. The first is tax accounting based on the financials – that means the BAU work of managing the filing of returns for US GAAP.

This obviously sounds like quite a large undertaking but really a lot of the spade work will be done through an existing outsourced relationship – where you’ll come in is just to give a layer of high-level oversight on those deliverables.

Your other key responsibility will be in overall tax planning for the EMEA region. Obviously by extension this will mean involvement in the global tax plan and sync’ing in with the planning process of the other group tax functions in both the US and India.

As alluded to in the opening, one other area that will definitely become more of a focus over time – is with new directives such as Pillar 2, Base Erosion and Profits Shifting and any other new legislation as they come on stream. Regarding the culture, they are big on flexible hours and managing your own diary – as long as the deliverables are achieved it doesn’t matter when it’s done is the ethos. Aligned to that they are keen to keep scheduled team meetings to once a week or even once fortnightly.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Manage and review the preparation and filing of foreign local tax returns, including overseeing estimated tax payments
  • Manage and review transfer pricing studies, transfer pricing documentation and country by country reporting

  • Review and/or prepare statutory return-to-provision true up and reconcile statutory tax accounts
  • Examine foreign entities’ local statutory financial statements related to current/deferred tax provision
  • Provide support on foreign withholding tax matters, including WHT analysis and documentation

Requirements for this Role

  • Bachelor's degree related to Tax, Accounting or Finance
  • International tax experience in Big 4 and/or multinational corporations

Nice to Haves;

  • Experience in transfer pricing for US multinational technology companies
  • Experience in tax accounting for stock-based compensation
  • Knowledge and experience with US tax developments, including Pillar 2, Base Erosion and Profits Shifting (BEPS), Anti-tax Avoidance Directives (ATAD) and other OECD developments
  • Some previous exposure to the tech industry in a similar role
  • Advanced Excel required, with experience in NetSuite, Alteryx, or other automation and process improvements tools

Please do send on whatever version of your CV you have at hand and would be happy to have a call to discuss in more detail from there.
