Two certainties in Life… Death and Taxes
This old phrase still holds true and for tax professionals it means that even in times like we are seeing currently their skillset is still very much in demand.
Where we are seeing current opportunities?
After several months of holding tight a number of practices are now seeking tax professionals to join their teams.
Working in practice offers many positives:
- Variety of work
- Challenging projects
- Access to the best learning and technical resources
- Being part of an expert team
- Development opportunities
Over recent years, the working environment of many practices has changed. Many practices now offer flexibility that may not always have been there in the past:
- Flexible / reduced working hours
- Condensed working weeks
- Working from home
There is a whole range of practices from Big 4, Top 10, Boutique Firms, Legal firms, smaller firms. We are currently seeing demand across all of these.
Tax teams in larger companies are more and more common, as companies see the value that in-house expertise can bring. Given the more challenging market conditions currently, the majority of inhouse roles arising at present are at tax analyst / tax accountant / tax manager level with less movement at the more senior level. Specialist expertise such as transfer pricing is also in demand.
